Kimberley Basnight serves as Senior Vice President of Talent at Extreme, as well as Head of Diversity and Inclusion, driving important initiatives that impact all employees including training, mentorship, recruiting, and building and transforming our culture. For example, she started Black at Extreme (“BEX”), an employee resource group that champions and facilitates workplace diversity by embracing cultural, ethnic, and racial differences. The group provides programming that promotes inclusion in recruitment activities, offers professional development, and enables a more collaborative and diverse work environment.
Basnight has more than 20 years of experience in executive program management, strategic planning, organizational change management, and operations. She previously served as Chief of Staff/Office of the CEO at Extreme. Prior to that, she was Director of IT Program Management at Extreme. Before joining the company, she held leadership positions at several Fortune 500 companies, including IBM and Lenovo. Basnight was part of the charter group of IBM professionals in the mid-90s who trained at George Washington University to be a part of the IBM Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCOE) and helped to implement project offices throughout IBM’s then 10,000 employee campus. Over her career, she has led, implemented, and supported IT project management offices, establishing project governance, change management programs, and training for emerging project managers.
Basnight holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science, Computer Information Systems from North Carolina Wesleyan University.
